We have just returned from a week in Ireland where we enjoyed the best (hottest) weather in 40 years. We literally did not see a cloud for a week. What we did see was the beauty of Ireland’s west coast. Stunning.
As a result I am a little out of touch, and in particular I am short of catch reports and pictures. My understanding from Dave is that anglers across Cherry Lakes have continued to catch in the very hot conditions. We have also finished off the last of the spawning. The bigger Carp on Cherry Lake seem to have finally finished and they are resting up away from the smaller (male) fish.
Rhys Wilkins sent me some great scan shots of his weekend in Grebe with his partner and baby. unfortunately I cannot use these and hope to get some photos which I can use. More detail to come if I do.
As detailed in my update on 14 June, Peter Jones recently had a great stay in Grebe Lodge when he landed 15 Carp to 31-08. Peter has recently sent me some photos which given I am struggling to use any from the last week, I have included several new ones below. Please forgive me though for repeating the 31-08 Ghost Common as it is such a cracking Carp. Peter clearly ‘just missed out’ on a brace of thirties. His 29-12 Common has spawned out and at just about any other time would have been comfortably above this magic mark.
