Arrival & Departure

Jonathan Parker with a 25lb carp caught on Cherry LakeYou can check in from the following times to start your holiday with us

Egret and Kingfisher Lodge from 12.30

Heron, Osprey, Grebe and Pochard Lodges from 13.00

Cherry Lake Cottage from 13.30

We have brought these times forward to maximise your holiday time, so if we are not quite ready please forgive and work with us!  Given that we have a lot to do to ensure your Lodge or Cottage is clean and everything you expect of a visit to Cherry Lakes, please do not arrive more than 30 minutes before these times.

The entrance to Cherry Lakes is via Wildmoorway Lane, a single track narrow country lane, which is not wide enough to park in. So if you do arrive early, why not pop into The Old George or Eliot Arms or the Lakeside Brasserie in South Cerney and have a relaxing lunch and give your holiday a nice kick-start.

We would be very grateful if you could aim to arrive between 12.30-15.30. If you are running late or need to arrive outside this time window, please call to advise us of your estimated time of arrival.

On arrival you will be welcomed and met in the Car Park and taken to the Reception. Here you will be taken through all the things you need to know about Cherry Lakes and the local area, sign your disclaimer form, and your credit card breakage deposit details taken. You will then be shown to your Lodge and given your keys.

Once at the Lodge, we will show you the boundaries of your swim as well as key point out it’s key features  and give you an update on how the Lakes are fishing. If required we will give you a few ideas on fishing tactics and suggestions as to where to cast your rigs to.

Joe Barr with a 22-08 mirror carpAfter unloading your car, your car will need to be driven and parked in the car park for the duration of your holiday.

Don’t Forget!

Your bedding and towels
Your fishing tackle and bait
Sunglasses and Sun Cream
Reading glasses and books
Your clothes!!

No need to bring a Carp Cradle, Weigh Sling or Landing Net as we provide these.

Lisa HumphreysYour holiday finishes strictly by 9.30am  if you are in Egret or Kingfisher Lodges and by 10am in all the other Lodges and the Cottage on the Monday or Friday of your departure day. Rods must be reeled no later than 30 minutes before your latest departure time.

We would be grateful if all guests could leave the Lodges and Cottage in good order and clean, as well as report any issues and breakages as appropriate.

As a result of guest feedback and the fact that 100% of deposits were returned in 2013, we have changed the breakage deposit process to taking credit card details on arrival. As a result there is no reason to hang around waiting for us to check the Lodge. In the event that we find any unreported damage or issue,s we will always contact you to discuss. We will always inform you first before a breakage charge is made to your credit card.

Prior to leaving and saying goodbye, hopefully until next time, you will need to return your Cottage keys and leave the Lodge keys in the door. The Carp Cradle, Weigh Sling, Landing Net and Carp Treatment should be left on the fishing platform.

Lodge guests may drive their cars to the lodge to pack up prior to departure

And please don’t forget to sign the visitors book and complete your guest feedback forms. We do take actions on many of your ideas to improve things.
