The delightful Cherry Lake Cottage stands on the banks of the River Churn. It is a good sized 3 double bedroom detached Cottage, decorated and tastefully fitted to a high standard, it really does have all the comforts of home. As a larger building it is clearly better suited to families or groups of friends than the Lodges sleeping up to six people comfortably, and will appeal to those seeking both fishing holidays and non-fishing based country breaks equally. Children of all ages are welcome in the Cottage. It also has it’s own exclusive a Hot-Tub!
The Cottage has it’s own private patio, with a large garden table and six chairs, which is a perfect place to watch the wildlife as the sun rises over the lake, as well as to have your evening BBQ whilst listening to the delightful sound of the water of the River Churn crashing over the weir, which is located less than 10 meters away.
One of the favourite features of the Cottage is it’s exclusive Jacuzzi Hot-tub. Our guests really enjoy the Jacuzzi in the private garden to the rear of of the Cottage on the banks of the River Churn. A truly great place to relax and enjoy all the benefits of a hydro massage experience, particularly on those dark winter nights.
The Cottage has a spacious lounge to relax in with an attached large dining room with a table that comfortably seats 6 adults. The Log burner is a delight on those cold autumn and winter evenings. One free basket of logs is provided for our guests from October to March. The Cottage has 3 large double bedrooms. Two have double beds, whilst the third has a bed which can serve both as a double or as two singles. Each bedroom has a large wardrobe and drawers.
The new fitted kitchen which was updated in January 2018, is equipped with dishwasher, microwave, cooker and hob. There is also a washer/dryer, to make self catering as pleasurable as possible. Should you prefer not to cook, but still want to eat in, both the local Indian and Fish& Chip shop do excellent takeaways. Pizzas can also be ordered from Cirencester.
Cherry Lake Cottage also benefits from two bathrooms – a large family bathroom with a deep corner bath and a second bathroom with a walk-in shower. It has all the extras you would expect in luxurious fishing holidays in the UK, including a large flat screen TV with 100 channel Freeview and a Blu-Ray/DVD player. WiFi is also available at a small additional charge.
Cherry Lake Cottage guests who enjoy carp fishing holidays have exclusive use of the Cottage swim. This ‘double swim’ is the only place on Cherry Lake where bivvies can be erected. the Cottage swim is a very comfortable all weather swim. No more mud, as the swim now has an area covered with bark for your bivvies and an area of artificial grass for your rod pods. feedback from our guests who have fished here is very positive throughout the year.
Whilst we will turn a ‘blind eye’ to Cottage guests leaving their rods out when they need to ‘nip into the Cottage for a call of nature’, night fishing is only allowed when anglers sleep by their rods. If you want to sleep in the Cottage, or watch the TV or use the hot-tub, then you must reel in.
The price of one person fishing is included within the price of the Cottage. Supplements exist for additional anglers. All bedding and towels are provided, as well as a welcome pack including tea, coffee, and biscuits to help you settle in on arrival. Guests who intend to use the outside Hot Tub might want to bring with them their dressing gowns and additional towels.
We do not accept bookings for single sex groups of more than two people in either the Cottage or Lodges, whether fishing or not, without the prior agreement of the owners.
We have done everything we can to ensure Cherry Lakes is secure, including installing a 6 foot fence along the road boundary and installed four CTV cameras. However nothing can keep the determined thief out. We recommend that you do not go to sleep in the Cottage and leave your tackle outside. If you are night fishing bivvy up and sleep by your rods. Make sure you tackle is insured before you come to Cherry Lakes just in case.
