Andy Watt's session starts with a bang!
His forty is our third 40lb+ Carp of the year

Despite the fantastic stock in Cherry Lake (last year we recorded 84 Carp over 30lb+), our bookings are very low over the next few weeks, other than for the Easter Weekend which is full.
Whilst this is not something we have done before, and in order to encourage some late bookings, we are going to hold our low season March prices (which last up to 22 March) for the following dates. As you can see there are some big savings on offer.
25-29 March - £1095 (saving £250)
01-05 April - £1095 (saving £250)
05-08 April- £875 (saving £120)
08-12 April- £1095 (Saving £250)
01-08 or 05-12 April - £1875 (saving £400)

Andy Watts arrived this week for his early Spring trip to Cherry Lakes, staying as usual in Heron Lodge.
As you can see he has made a very good start to his trip. His first Carp being this lovely 30-06 Mirror, pictured in the lead photo above, which picked up his small yellow pop-up close to the far bank.
I had a call from Andy around 21.30 to say he had a big Carp in the net. On arrival I agreed he had caught a real cracker. This heavily scaled Mirror looked fabulous and heavy in the weigh sling. She looked every bit of the 41-08 recorded on the scales.
Andy's fast start brings our total of forty plus Carp this year to 3. We have also had 12 different Carp caught over 30lb.
Oliver Wells also started his early Spring visit to Cherry Lake this week and has several to date including this lovely 27-06 Common. Very nice.
I am confident, particularly with the pressure dropping and the North-easterly wind fading, fishing will get better as we go into next week.
