23lb stunning Ghost Mirror is this week’s highlight

Mike Evans was the guest of Philip Hilson in Heron Lodge this week. The guys had quite a frustrating week given the Carp were stacked up in front of them, cruising, crashing and sunbathing…….but not feeding. This changed earlier this evening when Mike landed his second Carp of the week, this stunning Ghost Mirror of 23lb. Given his previous PB was 15lb, he was delighted to land his first 20+ and was particularly delighted to land such an attractive Carp.

Terry Thacker who is 70 years young, has also enjoyed his stay in Egret Lodge on Cherry Pool. The highlight of his week was this 20-04 Common Carp pictured below. Whilst not the best picture ever, the photo does show a well fed Common in good condition. Indeed Terry made the point to me that all the Carp he caught this week were in good condition (he had a good number including Mirrors of 16 and 17lb). His comments echo those of other anglers which just shows the benefit of regular feeding.
