Andy Watts lands a fantastic Ghost Mirror of 45-04
Shane Smith lands a brace of 29lb+ Commons

Regular Andy Watts is starring in this update again. Following on from his stunning 37lb+ linear (please see my last Latest News update), he finished his latest Cherry Lake session today with a new lake record for a Ghost Carp.
This stunning Carp is really special fish and weighed in at 45-04.
The conditions have not been good this week. High pressure, north-easterly wind, falling water temperatures are not normally conditions which are good for productive sessions.
Andy changed tactics after struggling for a couple of days. He switched to a Cherry Red wafter fished amongst a small number of washed out Cherry Red boilies. I often think that when the Carp are not feeding hard, that they are more likely to pick up washed out boilies because they know they are safe. Certainly a tactic which worked for Andy today, during a quiet period for the other Cherry Lake anglers.

Ross Humble returned to Cherry Lake with his partner and new baby daughter. Staying in Osprey Lodge his stay started with a bang. On Tuesday morning he landed two Commons within an hour of each other. The biggest was this 35lb fish above, the second a Common of 27lb.
He caught these on Cherry Red boilies after carefully using a boat to position his bait in his target location and then using a caterpult to spread c10-20 boilies in the area. Often a good way to get the Carp searching around and more likely to make a mistake.

Cherry Lakes regular and good fishery friend Shane Smith decided to spend a week in Grebe Lodge, rather than returning to one of the exclusive lakes. He was after a 30+.
Shane had managed four Carp up to Sunday, from memory all 20’s to 26lb. Sunday was not a day of rest, because he broke his PB for a Common Carp twice in one day. Both of these Carp came from the ‘bottom of ‘the wall’ on the ledge before the gulley. The first was this 29-02 pictured above. The second was this 29-12 Common, just shy of his target. A very nice brace to have in one day.
Well done to all the anglers featured here.
