Archie beats his Dad Mark 5-0 and shows him how to do it!

Mark Eaglestone enjoyed the half term break with his son Archie in Kingfisher Lodge on Cherry Springs this week…….although I am not so sure he was so pleased with the result….as Archie beat him 5-0 in difficult conditions.
This last week was one of the coldest of the winter, where we had to again resort to putting the aerators on to stop the lakes from freezing. As a result the fishing was hard for the few anglers staying at Cherry Lakes. That did not stop 15 year old Archie.
Archie worked hard both by switching between Maggots and small snowmen boilies, and trying different spots, to catch 5 Carp. All of which came between noon and dusk. He landed two PB’s, first a 16lb Mirror and then this deceptively chunky 20lb Common.
Archie’s success follows hard on the heels of 14 year old Jake Sayer’s catches last weekend on Cherry Lake (see the last post). The youngsters have certainly been showing the older anglers how to do it! Well done Archie.
