Fred Knight braves the cold!

Sunday 1 February 2015

Fred Knight visited Cherry Lakes for the first time this weekend, and boy did he pick a weekend to do so! It was so cold in the wind that the ‘brass monkeys’ froze! The north wind was biting! Indeed Cherry Lake was partially frozen again on Saturday morning. Still, as he says, the Lodge is as ‘warm as toast’!

Fred chose to stay in Kingfisher Lodge and has to date had two Carp, a 12lb Common at 01.30 and this lovely 18-04 Mirror on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately he lost a good fish this morning when it dived around the fountain ‘s ropes. Still he still has 24 hours to go  and despite the temperatures it is clear that the odd Carp are feeding. Fred caught his fish on pop up corn over PVA bags with broken boilies and maggots.

We are due for some further cold weather this coming week. Once it breaks and we have several days of milder weather I am sure we will be in for some good catches. Give us a call if you fancy your chances!
