The Fenton family love Cherry Mere
They all have PB's whilst staying in Pochard Lodge
Friday 20 September 2024
The Fenton family travel all the way from Northern Ireland for their 'annual pilgrimage' to Cherry Lakes, when they stay in Pochard Lodge on Cherry Mere. It is always a pleasure to see them. This year's visit has been arguably their best yet, with both Mum Ruth and Jack beating their PB's
I thought it only appropriate for Mum Ruth to lead this update with her PB, another Ghost Common of 25-08. After all it should be 'Ladies first'!
She was delighted when this lovely looking specimen, pictured above, picked her bait up which, I believe, was fished over some pellets and hempseed. Indeed an approach which worked for them all. A very distinctive Carp and one to watch into the future.
William Fenton caught a 30+ last year (from memory a Mirror of 31+) and much to the frustration of his older brother Jack, managed to catch the first 30 of their 2024 trip, this 30-02 Mirror pictured above. Further reinforcing his intra-family bragging rights! I am pleased to report that this is a new thirty for Cherry Springs. A very solid Carp which has potential for further growth into the future.
Jack however did not have to wait too long to get amongst the bigger Carp, when he landed is chunky Mirror of 27-08, pictured below.
This was followed up by one of my favourite Carp across the whole complex, when he landed this outstanding Ghost Common of 30-06. What a Carp to have as your new PB!
Needless to say, the Fenton family have re-booked for next year! We look forward to their return.
